“Asian” Salmon

Salmon is my favourite fish. Raw (sashimi) and cooked.

Funny enough, I thought I bought some rainbow trout (was originally going to but the grocery store didn’t have any when we went). Things get a little confusing when I am busy and we usually plan our meals the Sunday before the week. I had forgotten that I bought salmon and all week I thought we were having trout on Thursday. Anyway, this simple and delicious salmon recipe is adapted from All Recipes: Asian Rainbow Trout.

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 20-25 minutes
Serves 2

2 salmon fillets
1 tsp soy sauce
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp sesame oil
1/2 tsp garlic, minced
1/2 tsp ginger, minced
2 green onions, chopped


  1. Preheat oven for 200 degrees Celsius or 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Rub salmon with soy sauce, garlic, ginger, salt, pepper, and sugar.
  3. Top with green onions.
  4. Drizzle with sesame oil.
  5. Place on baking sheet. Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes (until it’s flaky).

So simple. Perfect for a crazy night when I have tutoring. Serve with rice and salad. We have simple salad almost everyday (lettuce, cucumber, tomato, and red onion with olive oil and balsamic vinegar as dressing).
