Walk Now for Autism Speaks

Dear blog friends:

For my birthday this year, I am participating in the Waterloo-Wellington Autism Speaks Walk.

While teaching and volunteering, I have had many opportunities to work with children with autism. I learned a lot from these experiences and became passionate about working in special education. To pursue this path, I am taking the Autism Behavioural Science program to continuing learning about autism (and to better students with autism).

By supporting the walk, you help fund:

  • scientific research
  • studies and clinical trials in areas of sleep disturbances, improved social skills, and effective medical and behavioural treatments
  • 17 Autism Treatment Network sites across North America – Two in Canada
  • grants to 51 Canadian organizations

Thank you!
